Who we are in Christ

Sometimes we all feel down, but it helps to know who we are and meditate on who we are in our lord Jesus Christ. If you're a christian you are a new creation, old things pass away, all things become new (1st Cor 5.17) we have a new life. In Matthew 16.15 Jesus asks Peter, who do you say that I am, Peter says you are the Christ the son of the living God, Jesus says blessed are you Simon son of Jonah for this was not revealed to you by man but by my father in heaven. If you know this, you didn't figure it out on your own, God revealed it. He gave you this revelation.

WE ARE A KINGDOM OF PREISTS

1st Peter 2-9 but you are a chosen people a royal preisthood, a royal nation belonging to God that you may declare the praise of him who called you out of darkness, to his wonderful light. The world may not see us this way, but god does, it is a great responsibility to represent our God, a privilege with many rewards, a preist represents God and ministers to others, and it's a role we can fullfill.

WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

An ambassador is one who speaks with authority in a foreign land, we can use the word with authority and this world is not our home, we are pilgrims passing through. When travelers would set up there tents, they didn't put the stakes too far down, they were flexible and could move easily. We're to be flexible and move as the spirit wills, let us not put our stakes too far down in this world, and get to attached, God wants to prepare us for the next life.

WE ARE SONS OF GOD

God so loved us while we were yet sinners, we didn't get into his family because we were good or deserved to be, he adopted us while we were sinners. He called us. Not that we came into his light, but he crashed through our darkness. We have a rich father who owns everything. How much different will we treat what we have if we think of all as his and we're graded on how we use it? Galatians 3-26 -- we all are sons of god through faith in Christ Jesus.

WE ARE FRIENDS OF GOD

In John 15-15, Jesus said, "I no longer call you servants because a servant doesn't know his masters business instead I have called you friends, for everything i have learned from my father I have made known to you". Because of Jesus, God sees us through him, no longer enemies but an actual friend ,and we in our thought and action should treat him that way.

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERERS

In Romans 8-37 it is said that in all things we are more than conquerers through him who loved us. All the bad and ugliness the world has given us, with all our defeats and heartaches, in christ we conquer them all. It may not feel like it but we will, if not all in this life, in the next one, but we are more than conquerers. Commit yourself to a faithful creator and continue to do good and Christ works all things together for good for those who love him -- Romans 8-28.

In 2nd peter 3-1 we see his divine power has given us everything we need for a life of godliness through our knowlwge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. These are just a few things descriptions of who we are in Christ. Hopefully they're encouraging and help us to see we have a very special place, a very high place with our God -- not peons but his friends. Not because of what we have done but because of what Jesus did.
